FSU COB HOMECOMING ALUMNI TENT

THEME: COLOR ME CRIMSON
Homecoming is a university wide event hosted annually. This year, the event was held in the College of Business parking lot on Saturday, September 28th at 12pm. As a part of homecoming, all of the colleges host a tent for the tailgate so their alumni can come back to relive their college memories. Our Event Management class had the opportunity to assist Dean Nicol again with his goals for the College of Business Alumni Homecoming Tent. Although we did not meet face to face with Dean Nicol, our professor Amy Doyle was able to fill us on on all of his requests. In addition to Dean Nichols, some of our stakeholders include COB Alumni, COB Students, COB Faculty, and President Eisler.

EVENT DEVELOPMENT
As part of our event development, we were responsible for designing a menu, creating signage, designing an activity, creating decor, assembling volunteers, and creating documents such as production schedules, task lists, SWOT analysis, risk analysis, and more. I have attached those documents below. For this event we relied on Ferris State Universities advertising for homecoming and FSU COB's marketing as well. But, we have made plans for next year's marketing including adding photos below to the COB website. I have attached the Marketing Plan for next year that we created as well. To view the documents, please click to enlarge the image and examine our work. I have also attached the committee contact sheet for our event team as well.

EVENT PRODUCTION
Below are some of the key aspects of this event that we developed and produced.

BODY MARBLING
For this event, we wanted to plan an activity that students, alumni, and faculty to could participate in to show their Bulldog Pride. Our team ordered a Body Marbling kit online and tested the product before event day. In addition to testing the kit for this activity, we also had to organize volunteers. This activity was very exciting and loved by everyone in attendance. Please see the amazing photos in the gallery below of some of our favorite marblers!
PICK YOUR PUPPY BUFFET
To coordinate with Ferris State University Bulldogs, our food for this event was a gourmet hot dog buffet. During production I was assigned to coordinate the Catering and was responsible for making the menu, cooking the food, delivering to the venue, and set up. This is a photo of the menu I created and there are several photos of the buffet below!

ALUMNI SOLO CUPS
To keep with our college homecoming spirit, we chose to use Ferris State University College of Business cups for all alumni to promote our event goals. All alumni loved their cups and we gained great connections through this promotion.
EVENT SUMMARY
After the conclusion of Homecoming and returning to class, we were able to finalize the event and analyze our goals. Our goals for this event were to increase our network of alumni, grow the COB alumni connections, and provide a fun experience for all attending. After production of the event we gained several new alumni connections with our cup promotion and drew all alumni to our tent with food, entertainment, and activities. All in all, it was a great event with great company. Dean Nichols did not provide us with a budget for this event, but I have attached the shopping list below.
